Roulette is a game of chance played on a wheel with 37 (sometimes 38) numbers ranging from 0 – 36. The dealer spins a ball on the roulette wheel and if the ball falls into a pocket that corresponds to the bet you made, you receive a payout based on the odds of that bet.

The following are the types of bets that can be placed on a roulette table:

Inside Bets

Straight Up: The bet is placed on a single number in the middle of the square.
Split: The bet is placed on two adjoining numbers either on the vertical or horizontal lines that seperate them.
Street: The bet is placed on 3 numbers on a single horizontal line. The chip is placed on the edge of the line of a number at the end of the line.
Square: The bet is placed on 4 adjoining numbers by placing the chip on the intersecting line that joins the four corners of the numbered squares.
Six Line: a bet is placed on 6 numbers or two adjoining streets by placing the chip at the interesecting line of two street bets.

Outside Bets

1 to 18: a bet placed on one of the first low 18 numbers (not including 0)
19 to 36: a bet placed on the highest 18 numbers or any number from 19 to 36
Red or Black: A bet placed on the color that will come up on the wheel.
Even or Odd: A bet placed on all even or odd numbers on the wheel.
Dozen Bets: A bet placed on the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third (25-36) dozen numbers on the wheel.
Column Bets: a bet on 12 numbers arranged in a column on the table.
